Workshop Goal

The aim of the workshop is to present the PBL method in practice as a didactic tool in teaching theoretical subjects, such as public health. Participants take an active role in the teaching process, working together to solve a real health problem, and then learn the principles of conducting classes using the PBL method. Each participant also receives a complete set of materials for independent use.

Topics to choose from:
1. Air Hygiene and Population Health

Impact of air quality on health, the nurse’s role in environmental education, preventive actions.

2. Obesity and Diabetes as Public Health Challenges

Risk factors, prevention, patient communication, designing educational interventions.

Each participant selects one of the above thematic workshops.

Workshop Structure:
Part I – PBL-based Session (90 minutes)

Participants work together as one teaching group on an original scenario, solving a health problem in a model educational session.

Part II – Methodology and Materials Review (45 minutes)

After the session, the instructors discuss:

  • the structure of the scenario and the course of the lesson;
  • the teaching materials used (handbook);
  • techniques for asking questions and moderating group work;
  • assessment principles in the PBL method.

  • Checklists and sample assessment tools

Please prepare a laptop or tablet (optional). Materials will be provided to participants in electronic form after the workshop.
